Leslie Johnson

Leslie Johnson grew up in the shadow of Chief Mountain near the Alberta / Montana border. She loves to read, spending countless hours inside a good book. Many nights, her mother would find her under her covers with a flashlight reading her latest library find, long after she was supposed to be asleep. She still lives in windy southern Alberta where she moderates a writing group. If she’s not writing, reading, or gardening, she’s working on a jigsaw puzzle, playing with her cat, Milo or taking a walk in one of the many parks in the area.

Angela pushed back his shaggy hair, falling over his not-quite-handsome face. His blue eyes sparkled like moonlight on the ocean. Everything about him was so perfect. She wanted to hold him tight and never let him go.

“I want to know everything about you.” He whispered as he leaned down to capture her bottom lip. She pushed him back.

“What did you say?”

“I, umm … want to know everything about you?” His voice cracked. Light appeared through the pores of his skin. In an instant, he was gone—...

The phone rang a few times before he answered. Her heart nearly burst through her chest at his greeting. She loved the sound of his voice, smooth like whiskey. Welcoming. “Don’t hang up.” She said immediately. She worried that once he learned who was on the phone, he would.

It brought our promises together into a mosaic that became tomorrow.

He loved my...
